How long does a Georgian residence card take to issue?

Practical guidance for international readers · Georgia

The residence card is a separate document ordered after approval of the residence permit. The agency lists ten working days for GEL 60, with faster paid options.

What this means in practice

Its published options are five working days for GEL 80, three for GEL 100, two for GEL 120 and same-day service for GEL 150. Prepare the identity, address-registration and other documents applicable to your card. Allow time for production: submitting the card application is not the same as receiving the card.

For a first temporary residence card, the agency lists the residence decision, identity document, two photographs and payment receipt; children also need a birth certificate. If your address registration uses witnesses, ask when ordering the card whether the registration is recorded or still being checked. A March 2026 applicant reported a delay while staff verified her address. That is an individual report, so ask the service point about your own application status.
