Must my landlord attend residence-address registration in Georgia?
Practical guidance for international readers · Georgia
The owner's personal attendance is not the only way to establish an address. The agency lists ownership evidence, the owner's consent, or a qualifying statement by two adult witnesses.
What this means in practice
The witnesses must confirm residence at that address for the preceding three months before an authorised employee. A representative may apply where the applicable requirements are met. Agree the address arrangements before paying for accommodation; an ordinary rental booking does not itself supply every document needed for registration. The agency describes address registration as free.
The agency lists proof of ownership, owner consent or confirmation by two adults that you lived at the address for the previous three months, made before an agency officer. Its page does not set one consent form for every case. In April 2026 an applicant reported refusal because a notarised consent used an old street name. Check the current official address before the owner leaves and ask the agency what identification witnesses need.
